Human Rights | Transitional Justice | International Law and Courts
The International Justice Lab (IJL) was founded at William & Mary in 2019. IJL brings together faculty and students from across the United States to conduct research on human rights, transitional justice, and international law and courts. We aim to produce high-quality social science research that is relevant to policy makers, practitioners, and civil society advocates.
Our research has been published or is forthcoming in leading, peer-reviewed social science journals such as the International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Human Rights, and International Journal of Transitional Justice. Our researchers also write regularly for mainstream outlets like Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, and The Washington Post, among others.
We have been fortunate to receive generous funding from the National Science Foundation, University of Southern California, and Global Research Institute.
